The Aeron Chair has two options for added lumbar support: the lumbar pillow and the PostureFit support mechanism. It is possible, however NOT recommended, to buy an Aeron Chair without lumbar support. If you're going to buy a chair that has all the bells and whistles, you might as well cover all your bases. Lumbar support is essential to any decent ergonomic office chair. Keep reading to learn more about the benefits of the optional lumbar support for the Aeron Chair.
Lumbar Pillow
The lumbar pillow has been the backbone (no pun intended) of the Aeron Chair since the beginning. It adjusts through a vertical range of 4.inches and can be removed or reversed to accomodate various lumbar arch depths. |

PostureFit Support Mechanism
PostureFit, introduced in 2002, is a refreshing addition to the Aeron Chair. Its wishbone shape lends an aesthetically pleasing appeal to the already sleek look of the Aeron. PostureFit adjusts to the lower back's contours, filling the void that exists between the lower back and the back of the chair. By doing so, PostureFit supports the natural forward tilt of the pelvis to promote the alignment of the spine. |
